The Sea Together with You

Since 2018, the Association Insieme a Te has set up a temporary summer facility on the coastline of Punta Marina Terme (Ra) to enable bathing for people with severe motor, sensory, and intellectual disabilities, as well as to support their companions.
A completely free beach to give those who can no longer, or have never been able to, experience the simple joy of a day of sun and sea with their loved ones.
It is also a way to communicate a new perspective on disability, which should not prevent the enjoyment of life’s simplest pleasures.

Thanks to a twenty-year concession obtained in 2023 through a public tender, the Association Insieme a Te can now build a permanent structure to enhance its work by leveraging the experience gained over the past years.
The experience of six years of beach activity has given us a clear understanding of what our guests are looking for and what they need: simply a spacious and shaded place where they can feel comfortable during social moments as well as in private ones, with the right tools to move on the beach, enjoy a swim in the sea, and then take a warm shower in large, comfortable spaces for both the guests and their companions.

The new structure will include the creation of eighteen reserved stations, adequately spaced and covered by gazebos, and twelve stations under umbrellas, equipped to host individuals with total motor disabilities (quadriplegia) and/or those with outcomes from neurodegenerative diseases (such as ALS and similar conditions) along with their companions; accessible restrooms; areas dedicated to volunteers; offices; common areas; and a multipurpose room for activities involving volunteers and guests, as well as public awareness initiatives. The stay for guests with disabilities will be free of charge.
The eighteen stations will be dedicated to eighteen fundamental values of the association: Love, Faith, Solidarity, Listening, Generosity, Life, Resilience, Freedom, Care, Serenity, Collaboration, Friendship, Hope, Altruism, Commitment, Gratitude, Family, Inclusion.
